The Chinese Huainan Mining Group Ltd. assigned Maschinenfabrik HESE to increase the efficiency of the current conveying system in the mine Xin Zhung Zi. In order to reach the desired efficiency increase, the HESE TT-intermediate drive technology that has already successfully established and proven itself in the German mining industry, was implemented. After consulting, engineering and manufacturing in Gelsenkirchen, the delivery and assembly of the TT-intermediate drive in the mine Xin Zhung Zi followed in November and December 2009 according to schedule.

By applying HESE TT-intermediate drive the efficiency of the main conveyor belt was increased from 800t/h to 1200t/h by 50% and at the same time the total stress and strain of the conveying system was decreased. Efficiency increase by adding HESE TT-intermediate drive technology to an existing conveying system is the first project of that kind in China. The Huainan Mining Group Ltd. sees the HESE TT-intermediate drive assembled in the Xin Zhung Zi mine as a pilot scheme and is thinking about the assembly of further HESE TT-intermediate drives to increase the efficiency of its conveying systems.
